Youth/Children Activities

Worship at Parma-South on Sundays - All children and their families are welcome in Worship at Parma-South. At the First Light Service there is a table of quiet activities, Children's books, and coloring pages at the rear of the gym. In the Traditional Service children may use our "Pew Packs" which have books, quiet games, and soft toys for our younger worshippers. In the traditional Service there is a special Children's Message geared for our youngest members. Click here for more information

Nursery Care - Nursery Care is available all morning on Sundays 9:00-11:30 a.m. for Infants and Toddlers. Our cheerful nursery is staffed by caring and gentle volunteers.

Sunday School 10:30-11:45 a.m. - is offered during the traditional service. Children & Youth (Pre-school - 8th Grade) begin by worshipping with their families in the sanctuary. Following the "Passing of the Peace" the children and youth leave to attend Sunday School. The Sunday School curriculum for Pre-K through 5th grade is called “Rock Solid”. At each age level on every Sunday, the children will be invited to a faith experience. It is during this time that they can come to a better understanding of God and what God calls them to do and to be.

Sunday School for Junior Highs (Grades 6-8) - They cover more current day topics and how they can use the bible to help them in everyday life.

Senior High Youth Group (Grades 9 - 12) - Our Senior Highs are encouraged to attend the First Light Service
at 9 am and then have Sunday School from 10:30-11:30.  During this time they will have bible study and fellowship.  They are learning more about Mission and hope to one day take a Mission Trip. The Senior Highs are very active in the church with Souper Bowl Sunday,
Pancake Breakfasts, movie and game nights and Youth Sunday.

"Tuesday Night Jam" (formerly called "Wednesday Night Live" - starting Tuesday, September 14, 2010, @ 5:30pm- 8:00pm:

That’s right!  We’ve grown so much that we moved our Wednesday Night Live program to Tuesdays and gave it a new name.  Be sure to update your calendars to our new day, and look forward to:

   *Family Style Dinners
*Adult Bible Study after dinner  (6:45 – 8:00)
*Youth Bell Choir  (Grade 6 +)
   *Youth Choir
*Rec. times for all age groups

Let the festivities begin on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at 5:30pm!  Please join us as we start the new year with some fun, dinner and learning.

We are looking for volunteers to share a variety of talents.  Whether it be registering participants weekly, assisting with Rec. time or Bible Study, setting up for dinner or working on costumes/ scenery for our annual pageant, we have a job for you!  Please contact Susanna Schwab for more information.

Junior High Youth Group ("Wednesday Night Live") - The exciting news this year is we will be starting a youth group at the same time as "Wednesday Night Live" for grades 6-8 (Junior Highs). They will get to do fun service projects, have trips outside the church such as bowling and have some great fellowship as well. (Click here for printable Permission Slip) The best part is we can all start our evening off with a dinner together. If you have any questions please contact Pam Nash or Susanna Schwab.

Acolytes - Acolytes are youth from age 11 and up, who light candles for the Traditional Worship service at 10:30 a.m. once a month. They also volunteer to light candles on special holiday services and at weddings. Training sessions are provided. Please contact the Church Office, 440-885-2652; if you are interested.

Confirmation classes - Confirmation classes are offered each year to youth in the 9th grade. Confirmation classes are taught by the Pastor. Each confirmand receives a mentor to walk with him/her on this portion of their faith journey. At the completion of the class, each youth will be invited to make a decision to join the church. Confirmation classes meet weekly.

Vacation Bible School - Vacation Bible School is held once a year, usually planned for four nights - during the month of August. VBS is designed to be inter-generational and is open to children and adults of all ages.
